Road trip

We took a long sled tour E behind Big Blue and found a sunny slope to ski tour up. We noticed widespread Surface Hoar, and dry loose sluffs on steep solar aspects. Temps were -2 to -4 out in the field at 1450m , and -15 back at 850m. The conditions were variable, but we still managed to find soft snow in protected pockets. There is up to 300 cm up on the glacier but still very thin and rocky down below. We dug a pit and found no alarming results, however a Deep Tap Test gave us hard Resistant Planar results down 85 cm below the crust. This MFCR is dormant for now, but still remains a problem.
