Quick Observation
We roamed around the Window Bowl area and observed widespread wind scouring in the alpine and treeline, and wind-affected surfaces all the way down to the staging area. It was slightly surprising to see this much wind effect, even in the denser and sheltered areas, but on the bright side, no surface hoar anywhere. At 2000 m the snow depth was 60 cm and the wind was moderate - strong from the west. At 1:00pm our temperature was - 7. The sky was overcast all day, despite the lack of trying from the sun. As usual, the CrowSnow Riders have done a great job of maintaining the trails. They are in fantastic condition. Much appreciated!
