Well it was a rare day today. Mid-altitude had more snow than up high and it was cold! The way it should be. Northwest winds transported snow to the leeward sides offering quite a bit more snow on the east and south sides. Up high on top a leeward slope I was able to kick a few cornices that broke nice and clean. Isothermal snowpack, warm weather, then the coldest air of the season with less than a foot of light and the snow pack is bomber hard and safe. There are plenty of wind slabs out there but just not much snow for them to work with.
