I headed out to Currant Creek Peak today. There was very little new snow. I dug on the NE face of Currant Creek in a spacious open area in the firs. The snow is pretty rotten. When I took my skis off I easily penetrated to the ground, however; the new snow was high quality. It looks like some riders are carefully venturing off the road in grassy areas. Other than a wind skin I kicked on the peak, I saw no other signs of instability.
