Demon Peak Trail

We were able to drive up to the Watersprite Winter Parking Lot. Skinned up the winter trail to Watersprite meadows. Temps already increasing in the sun with snow melting off the trees by 10:00 a.m. Evidence of SH 2-3mm in the meadow. Traversed up to the summer trail and wrapped around the west ridge. Experienced whumping and shooting cracks on both the summer Watersprite Trail and the Demon Peak Trail (South and West aspects) Pinwheeling observed on all South and West aspects throughout the day. Watersprite winter trail is in good skinning condition. Watersprite Summer Trail, not so much. Many creek crossings, alder bashing along the way

Warming temps throughout the day creating snow shedding off trees and pinwheeling on south and west aspects. Skinned out in the dark, temp below zero

Observed whumping, cracking, pinwheeling and snow shedding off trees on logging roads/trails on south and west aspects of Demon Ridge.
