Weather
A weak overnight freeze had freezing temperatures at only 5 hours near 11,000 feet (27 degrees min temp at Red Mountain Pass SNOTEL). The high today at the same SNOTEL site was in the mid-50s. Winds kept surfaces cool or a while, but by noon things were cooking.
Snowpack
On south, southwest, and southeast aspects, slopes with enough snow to form avalanche problems are limited to the above treeline elevation band. Freeze-thaw mechanisms have impacted the entirety of the snowpack, and avalanche danger here is limited to loose wet avalanches in snow that has turned completely cohesionless due to warming. With weak or no freeze incoming, these slopes will turn cohesionless early in the day.
