Went to see what the hype was about in the WH2O backcountry today and was met with a 2mm zipper crust from what must have been a wet fog/ mist from last night up to 2000m (potentially higher). At higher elevations (1800+) powder is still good underneath the crust and makes for nice landing snow but is a tad tricky to maneuver in due to snow the crust. Powder underneath the crust down to the parking lot (1400-1800) seemed to be pretty heavy and dense. Stability was great, no signs of instability and a lot of the smaller krumholtz trees at and around ridge top had settlement cracks around them. No signs of recent slides.
