Mt Fernie and Fairy Meadows

We were up skiing in behind Mt Fernie and Fairy Meadows area. We didn't observe any avalanches through the day, but saw evidence of multiple recent slab avalanches in the alpine and at treeline in steep terrain, with some running the entire length of a bowl. There were also several large cornices on N and E aspects.  We had great skiing on about 15cm of loose snow on top of firm wind slab above about 1600m. Below that there was a somewhat challenging melt-freeze crust.
