Emerald Peak Slide Path

This ski can be described as party on top, but crud on the bottom. There was powder skiing from 1900m to 1600m, but crusty and twiggy further down. The rain crust disappeared around 1600m. At 1900m, we dug a pit and saw there was a dense crust 30-40cm deep with powder snow on top. We did a compression test and no instabilities were seen. Surface hoar was seen.
