Quick report
Skiing continues to be fantastic for November. Not a lot to note below the surface of the snow. Large (3-8mm) SH on snow surface widespread between 4800' and 6500' on all aspects. Inversion today and intense sun caused warming of top 10cm of snowpack. Great cold snow skiing found on steeper polar aspects. Current surface conditions at elevations we toured are a mixture of hot and cold pow, sun crusts, ice, and sticky glop. No signs of instability or recent avalanche activity observed. Pit at 8200' on W aspect: ECTX, CTX.

Gorgeous day for a walk. VF on W ends of valleys and Shasta valley N of Black Butte.
Snowpack
HS varies by aspect but between 45-160cm on the aspects and elevations of our tour. Generally right side up snowpack, with widespread rain crust from 11/22 existing 10-40cm below surface. Besides the rain crust, snowpack is primarily rounds and MF clusters. Snow surfaces have sun crust on solar aspects. Some previous loading observed above 8000' leeward to W. Pit dug at 8200' on W aspect near base of Giddy. HS 140cm. Top 30 cm was F hard rounds and some faceting rounds. Next layer was 7cm of 4F rounds. Next 20cm was rain crust (P hard). Remainder of snowpack was right side up rounds 1F to 1F+. No faceting noted around rain crust. Temp gradient was -2.5C above crust to -3.5C below. CTX, ECTX. Shovel shears broke above the rain crust.
