Toured to 2900ft, breakable crust ended at 2300ft, nice soft snow above that. Dug a pit above the standard uptrack at 2600ft WNW, CT 27 on 5mm buried surface hoar down 50cm. A deep tap test got the deeper BSH layer to go with some heavy wacks, but needed a lot of force. Both layers had large intact hoar frost crystals and planar surfaces. The ECT gave a non propagating result, seemingly only because the snow above it was too soft to create a proper slab. When I tapped my shovel on top of the middle of the ECT block, after finishing the test, the block propagated fully and slid off on the BSH 50cm down. A D2 glide avalanche, looks to have slid in the last 48hrs in the middle of the main ski area on the SW side.
