-
Found weak sugary snow near the bottom of the snowpack with bad test result ECTP (21) . NW @ 7400'

We found very nice "hero" powder conditions and lots of easily accessed untracked snow.
A snowboarder cracked out this small wind slab that did not run on the Beaver Mt Backside right above Hwy 89 in Beaver Canyon

- Instability Comment
-
We avoided a few obvious fresh drifts on steep slopes, but did trigger shooting cracks in drifted snow in low angled terrain. Rain crust would flex under my weight and cause cracking in the soft, recently drifted snow.

Test shows potential for deep hard slab avalanches. Unlikely and in isolated outlying terrain with shallow snow cover and poor snow structure. A person might trigger a deep hard slab from a shallow part of the slab.
