- <p>Lots of obvious drifting, new soft and weak cornices, some slabbing under the sled when traveling and a few new snow slab pockets broke loose under the powsurfers. </p>
Quite a few small pockets broke loose in steep windloaded areas. Nothing threatening.. these were small and didn't run very far, but still a sign of sensitivity in the new storm snow and a reminder to be mindful of exits and exposure.
Snow seemed to get deeper farther north in the range. We didn't do a whole lot of exploring. Too busy making laps and getting blasted in he face with pow.
Snowpack
Super good powder conditions. Fast, light and right side up making for huge plumes and many many faceshots. Wind had moved quite a bit of snow around. Some areas only seemed about 8-10" while other areas were 18-24" deep. Wind drifts here and there were chest deep and varying from soft to stiff and thick. S, SE and E faces warmed a bit in the sun and some S faces had zippered by the end of the day. Most other aspects were holding good above 8000 ft. Blower powder conditions with cold smoke lingereing for 4-5 turns. Giving it 5 stars
