Quick report
A mixture of warm and cold temps today, as in raining at 6700 feet and snowing above 7000feet. When we departed for the day it was snowing wet and heavy with poor visibility. We did not see any Avalanche activity nor did we see any signs of instability. We did not look for a persistent problem and kept our terrain choices conservative. We did see wind transporting lots of snow. I did an informal observation with my snow probe and here is what I saw. Snow depth 100cm. At 85cm I observed a crust layer, at 75 cm there was soft snow. A definite crust layer exists between 85 -75 cm. At 75cm and down the probe met little resistance. More snow on the way!!!
