Quick report
No significant signs of instability noted. Zones of excellent skiing intermixed with pockets of poor skiing, including heavy snow, thin breakable curst, rocks, and alders. Lots of skiers out today on multiple peaks and aspects. Localized cracking under skis on isolated wind-affected firm snow. Old small-sized cornice blocks observed in Wimp Bowl.

Nice warm and calm tour until about 15:00, then winds increased notably with visible snow transport along ridge.
Snowpack
Generally shallow early-season snowpack throughout both tours. Exposed alders in lower elevations. Snow depth ranged from bare ground to about 50 cm along wind scoured areas. Probed snow depths up to 1 meter near the top of Peak 4068. All three quick pits revealed well-developed basal facets overlayed with multiple layers of melt-freeze. Pit #1 (near Frostbite) - multiple tests showed easy to moderate collapses (Q3, no propagation) on weak layers between 10cm and 20cm. Pit #2 (Wimp Bowl) - no formal tests. Pit #3 (near Peak 4068) - CT30. Pits #2 and #3 both had a notable ~5cm melt-freeze layer near ground sandwiched between well-developed facets.
