Winter in the foothills!
Temps felt cold, particularly with wind chill and in comparison to the warmth of Saturday and Sunday.
Probably 16" of light new snow, spread unevenly across the landscape. With strong winds from the northwest easily transporting the light flakes, it's all or nothing: Windward slopes are stripped down to bunch-grass, while deposition zones require wallowing through several feet of trap-door snow.
Observed cracking on several shear-planes within the new snow. Steep slopes would certainly avalanche with loading, a person, or a cornice trigger.
