Quick report
Today, we went to look at the snowpack on Saddle Peak.
The winds were ripping on the ridge, but not transporting snow.
We dug a pit on the south ridge of Argentina Bowl. Our ECT results showed two results in the upper snowpack, where near surface facets have been formed (ECTN10 and ECTN14).
Isolated wind loaded pockets showed cracks.
On sun exposed slopes, we found a sun crust, and the snow conditions were generally pretty variable. We experienced hard ice, breakable crusts, supportable crusts, pockets of powder and wind packed snow.
We observed three recent wind slabs that probably released on Jan 13th or 14th.
