Snowpack

We found 15cm of storm snow resting on a 4cm sun crust with 2mm preserved surface hoar from Wednesday on solar aspects. Significant wind loading has produced fresh wind slabs and cornice growth.  The new snow interfaces failed in compression tests but did not propigate and are still too soft to produce a cohesive slab. A thin layer of facets resting on the Febuary rain crust, 85cm from surface, showed propagation potential (ECTP26).
