Quick report

Rode with an AIARE Instructor Course. Found propagating results on the Feb 18th layer during extended column tests on multiple aspects at 9600'. This is the main layer of concern that is still lingering across all aspects and elevations at Togwotee. This persistent problem isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so patience and terrain management is crucial. Low probability, high consequence problem.  Areas with a shallower snowpack on southerly aspects that contain a crust combonent are most sensitive. Rode a test slope on a N aspect near 10,000' to check reactivity of wind slabs that were stubborn and could not be triggered. Most of these wind slabs are locked in pretty well at this point without any recent snow. No recent avalanche activity, cracking or collapsing. Temperatures have remained cold recently, with strong solar influence on southerly aspects. Still preserved powder on shaded northerly aspects.

Dug a couple pits on different aspects to check the persistent slab problem, specifically the Feb 18th layer. 

9600' SE aspect HS: 135cm ECTP19 @ 82cm on Feb 18th 1F hard crust above 3mm facets

9600' WNW aspect HS: 172cm ECTP27 @ 102cm Feb 18th 3-4mm facets
