- Heavy Snowfall, Rapid Warming
I snowshoed to below Circle Awl Peak Thursday evening. The snow was generally hard suncrusted except in shaded areas and in the pines. The snow was very deep with several feet of new snow. It appeared several skiers had skinned up earlier in the day.
Temps were in the 20's with virtually no wind. The skies were crystal clear.
As the weather warms the next few days, wet release avalanches will likely be a problem. Early on and early off for the next week or so.
