Observation: Main Gobblers

Nice and mild this morning at the trail head.

Snow was damp to start, but quickly turned soft as you climbed in elevation. No wind down low, but could hear it and see it an all the exposed ridges. Once I reached the base of the gobblers area, yesterday's tracks had blown back in, and I could feel the wind slabs starting to form lower on the slope. I continued to use the terrain to ascend, but turned around below my objective, and decided to enjoy a few turns back to the exit. Wind slab was my primary concern today, and was verified. I do still believe these mild temps are helping out consolidate the snow pack, and hoping that with just a little more time, we could turn the corner....
