Snowpack
Investigated new snow from today (10cm) and how well it was bonding to the old snow. Dug a pit at 9800 feet. The new snow in this location was bonding well to the old snow. Lower down on the SE ridge the interface was a stout crust and the new snow was bonding well to the crust. Testing the mid Dec weak layer showed no propagation. While the structure surrounding this interface is poor (5 out of 5 lemons), the propagation potential was low in this specific location. The facets in the lower half of the snowpack are gaining strength. This is likely the result of, time, settlement and warm temps over the previous 3 days. Other pits dug recently have shown propagation potential, so take these results with the bigger picture in mind.
Rain/snow line was approx 7500 feet at 4pm
