Quick report

We skied into Marion cautiously because of the forecast and were surprised to find a lot of dry fresh snow, which made for excellent conditions. We observed no wind or drifting and dug a pit at 6800 feet facing SSE below the ridge. We got no results in a test (ECTN). The rain crust layer was about 80CM down with soft unconsolidated snow on top of that. Generally excellent with no observed signs of recent avalanches other than the occasional old slough. some old small sloughs otherwise nothing.
