“Hard to tell what’s pow versus what’s refrozen, wind-affected, old wet-loose debris.” Went on the Tour de Tunnel, ascending the south fork, crossing over, and descending the north fork. Pretty chilly out there. Never got in the sun on the approach and once we were high enough, a cloud came in to keep it cold. Light winds gusting occasionally to moderate kept us with our hoods up. Speaking of wind: while a fresh new inch of snow covers the surface, underneath it’s a mix of scour, slab, and softness that was highly variable. Ski crampons were essential. We saw some very isolated cracking (mostly wind skins perhaps 2ft out from skis).

Saw a couple of long-running dry loose that either started from winds on the ridge or solar input earlier in the day.
