Quick report
Wow, its dismal on the valley bottom:
- Valley cloud was confined below 4500', above that there's sun for days.
- Cold, clear nights have weakened the surface of the snowpack.
- Found intact surface hoar on shaded aspects at upper elevations.
- Surface crusts on southerly aspects had broken down by 11 am.
- These slopes were wet by 2 pm and a crust was reforming by 4 pm.
- Calm wind and no blowing snow.
- No recent avalanches or signs of instability.
Walking is still the best option below ~5000 feet.

Emerged from the cloud at 4500'. Calm with occasional light wind from the SW.
Snowpack
Just superficial obs and probing today:
4500' SE aspect: HS = 30cm, small surface hoar (1mm) and facets (0.5mm), some riming
5800' SE aspect: HS = 70cm, 5 cm moist to wet on top of dry facets (0.5mm)
6900' multiple aspects: HS = 110cm, surface hoar (5mm) on top of facets (0.5mm)
