Pinto Mountain

Went up to Pinto Mountain to see what the snow conditions were like, and it seemed that no one had skied up into pinto this year. we found some DEEP snow and good riding!

A bit of mixed results out there today, at the parking lot (1600m) there was a rain crust that was about 2cm thick under 5cm of fresh, then disappeared around 1750m. dug our pit at 1880m and found about 180-210cm of snow. did two compression tests Compression test 1: CTM 11 Down 45cm CTH 28 Down 165cm Compression test 2: CTM 13 Down 45cm There is quite a concerning layer down 165cm that failed on our first compression test on 28 hits, but did not appear on the next test.
