Good views made up for bad skiing

Went for an adventure up the helm side of garibaldi, skinnable snow starts at 1350-1400, ~40cm at the campground. Mix of hard pack and crust, with rain runnels up to 2k. Not much in the way of recent activity from what we could see Skied down cinder cone, very firm with some icy patches although it had started to soften when the sun broke through at approx 2pm. Still thin on most of the other peaks in the area, and the snow quality steered us away from anything more adventurous.
