Collapsing

In one low angle but open location, we experienced three collapses, where large (maybe 10m radius) areas collapsed underneath our weight. Was about 3600' and roughly W facing. We stuck to the trees and generally low angle terrain all day, although we probably did ski trees up to about 35°. We didn't not trigger anything in this terrain, but did notice some blocks breaking off beneath uptracks. Ski conditions down low were subpar with a significant breakable crust on all aspects we traveled on. Up higher, ski conditions improved dramatically. Everything above maybe 4500 was pretty good, with a mixed bag getting worse as you trended down to 4000. Nothing below that was worth lapping.
