Quick report
About 12" to 14" of new dry snow on top of the old rain crust. Snow was not very consolidated. We did notice very isolated cracking in a couple of areas but overall the snowpack seemed stable. There was some wind (maybe around 20 to 25 mph) and blowing snow. Light snow showers in the area at the time and about 80% cloud cover. We were managing the terrain and carefully avoiding shallow areas around rocks as we were concerned of this very thing. We had been skiing this zone all day and we first noticed the slide around 1:30 PM. There were multiple other parties in this area.

We were skiing Dead Tree Bowl just above Red Lake. We noticed a skier triggered avalanche that had occurred between two of the runs we took. It occurred on a north facing aspect at about 8200' in convex and more complex terrain with shallow areas around rocks. We were on the other side of the valley when we saw the debris field and the crown so we do not know exactly how big the crown was...best guess is 18" to 2 feet. Slide was probably 100 feet across and slid about 300 feet down the mountain.
