Northern Bitterroot

Dug a pit on an E-NE aspect at 7400 in the Northern Bitterroot. ECTP 21. Full propagation across the column at the new snow/old snow interface 45cm down. The resulting block pulled off cleanly, leaving behind a planar bed surface (photo). A repeat test gave a similar result (ECTP 20 and planar). Opted out of our preferred line based on test results and retreated to low angle.
