Quick report
Everything was frozen hard from the tree line to the rim this morning, but sunshine and high temps softened it down 8-10" by mid afternoon. The summit high was 30 F but it was dead calm and very sunny until thin high clouds ,oved in mid-day. Judging by the tracks, Saturday climbers avoided avalanche prone slopes, but skiers and glissaders were much less cautious today. I saw evidence of one small recent avalanche on the east aspect of Monitor Ridge around 7200'. There were roller balls (natural and climber triggered) this afternoon. Otherwise, no sign of risky conditions today on these aspects.
