Dug a pit to practice for AIARE pro1. Pit was dug on eastern face at about 5800 ft. Snowpack was 40cm in depth. Documented 30 cm of precipitation particles on top of an ice crust. Precipitation particles appeared to be Graupel. Surface snow was fragmented PP. Snow hardness was fist at surface changing to 4 finger. until the ice crust.
