Quick report

We kicked off a small wind slab as we were ascending the Hogsback to gain the Coleman glacier. We felt fine poking the spot because it was so small and isolated, adjacent to an otherwise icy and scoured slope. It was in an obvious pocket that was being loaded by the strong East wind. Everywhere else the snow was highly scoured and we found no other signs of instability as we toured up to 8500ft on the glacier. The west slopes of more sheltered mid elevation terrain probably received some significant wind loading but we saw no avalanche activity.
