Trimmer

We toured a variety of NW, N, NE, E aspects near Trimmer and up toward Jobs Sister. All held variable surface conditions making for challenging skiing. Sun, wind, and crust were the themes. We dug a test pit in an area with a stout wind slab on a N aspect NTL at 8600ft, 20deg. We observed cracking in the wind slab where it was thinner. HS 88cm with 1F-4F wind slab in the top 20-30cm. The highest visible crust was 40cm down (48cm). CT21 RP/BRK a few cm above that crust (51cm). ECTN21 at 59cm from bottom. This was likely near the bottom of the wind slab. Basal facets and near crust facets lower in the snow pack were moist, rounding, and nonreactive. Air temperature was around freezing the whole day above 8k and breezy. Did not see any available snow for transport.
