Quick report
Waiting on more snow in this area to make things skiable, we decided to skin the road up and down to remind ourselves about our gear, do a transceiver drill, and see what the snow is actually doing up here. We stayed under 7,000 ft and about 1.5 mi from parking. Ten large trees downed over the road in our short hike. Surface varied between breakable and unbreakable crust. Height of snow in a flat, open area around 6730 feet was 25 cm. 23.5-25: New snow + graupel 18-23.5: Crust 8-18: Decomposing particles 4-8: Crust 0-4 cm: Facets
