We traveled south from Warm Lake Rd. The day started (9am) with a fine mist and we ascended a west-facing slope from 6k feet to a ridge at 8k feet and found a mixed bag of 4-5 inches of new snow with a zipper crust on top of stout crust and intermittent soft snow. As we crested the ridge to the east aspect, we experienced one isolated collapse. As we continued to travel in this zone, we felt like we were in a humid fog for most of the day. We had forgotten to stop at the bakery on the way south from McCall, but luckily we were provided with fresh-baked cinnamon rolls (pinwheels and rollerballs) on all aspects all day long... The snow became heavier and more saturated as the day went on. As we descended in elevation on our exit, we experienced small wet slides on micro-features that ran on the crust.
