Quick report
No signs of instability. Attempted a few test slides with no results of breaking or sliding. No new snow. Weather was good, bluebird sky but temperatures didn’t go much above freezing so not much melting. Wind came on in the afternoon blowing some snow around. Snowpack results showed that, in the area we were in, the avalanche or slide capabilities are very low. The top layer was a bit crunchy with sugar crystals directly underneath. We traveled with safety in focus. Mild travel for most riders but challenging and rewarding for my skill level. There are some water features such as streams that were relevant in our travel. We rode up to just over 8,000 ft. Overall I feel it’s very stable.
