I am sure someone has reported this already, but the entire bowl underneath the big NE facing wall of Mt Smith Dorian slid during warm early December storm. Bothe the main lower bowl and the gully on skiers right ran right from the base of the cliffs. There is a massive debris pile (see photos)!! The upper bowl from the hero’s nob col didn’t let go, and the skiing up there was exceptional.
Almost no wind in the bowl since the last storm. Every tree was fully loaded. A winter wonderland!
Upper bowl seemed well consolidated and bonded. Lower bowl is about 30-40 on top of the solid pack left by the big avalanche event. No obvious signs of instability down low or up high.
