Avalanche Information

Loose dry avalanche started from above 2nd pitch. Ran over the pillar pitch. Debris terminated in trough above P1 belay (climbers right side)

Weather

No wind on climbing route. Strong SW winds observed at ridge top with significant wind transport.

Incident

Loose dry avalanche started above 3rd pitch (pillar pitch). Loose dry avalanche ran over pillar/curtains. Hit climber as he was leading the 2nd pitch below. Lead climber had a secure stance was not pull off the ice. Tree debris was in the avalanche snow debris which piled up in the trough above the P1 belay (climbers right).
