Quick Observation
We had a surprisingly great day up this obscure ski summit. The Buller Pass trail has lots of snow for now, easy trailbreaking once at treeline and into the alpine. Aim for the gully once up near treeline otherwise the trail is bare. We were worried the south slopes of the peak would be bare (the whole west side was), but we found a surprisingly awesome snow slope to ascend and descend. We gained on skis up to the col then started bookpacking not far from there up to the top (not enough coverage to ski). 300m of boot packing on snow/rocks got us to the top. A very short snow step just below the west summit was easily ascended. We brought axe & boot crampons but didn't need them. Ski crampons were helpful to have but not necessary. The ski down the main slope was better than expected and the exit was a little flat with ups/downs but very manageable. No instabilities noted, no sign of any recent avalanches, felt like bomber conditions. Definitely recommend this little peak as a ski for anyone interested in some obscure Kananaskis ski summits!
