Quick Observation

Vermillion got lots of love today - numerous parties about. Our first push got us in the alpine almost to the base of the ridge, but wind effect and a rocky looking ridge with no possibility of skiing from the top made us turn around circa 2500m. At TL and above, found some old buried wind slabs that were non reactive. Ski down the path was amazing down to the choke at 2200m. Went back up for second rounds and pushed further skiers right (main path) which was also stellar. Still lots of good snow up there for those willing to put in the effort. The choke got beaten up since we skied it last Sun after the storm, but you can make it work easily. Lower part of the fan has had plenty of traffic but still skied very well. Mod winds at TL and into the ALP with some light wind skin forming. No signs of instabilities noted during the day although the main path did sluff again today (maybe size 1) but didn’t trigger any deeper instabilities. Valley clouds throughout the day, but had great viz once we were higher up. Another party reported the ridge to be quite adventurous (which seemed to imply narrow with some post holing into thin air).
