Quick Observation

The day started cold but thanks to an inversion was warm after getting to treeline. Mix of sun and clouds today and some light snowfall, almost zero wind. After following the current skin track up the roadside ridge we skied 2 runs in 2 different open trees/short high treeline-low alpine paths on the south-west aspect in very good snow. After our second lap we traversed north to the runout of the larger path that almost reaches the road, where we had a second car parked. No new avalanches today that we saw but the previous large avalanches in the main bowl ran about 1km from the start zone and down the terrain tarp drainage. The previous skin track was almost covered, this area can be completely avoided on the way up by skinning directly up the forested ridge to the climbers left, (I have seen avalanches here take out trees on the side wall of the drainage in the past). The avalanches in the bowl area are 2-2.5, if they had all went together then the combined force would be but 3+ easy, the debris looked deep where they met.
