After a long wait avalanche and weather conditions were finally ready for a big trip in the alpine. We pushed through the inversion into Big Y and Big Blue on the East side of the pass.
The valley fog (850 - 1200m) iced up googles and gloves, but once we punched through the visibility in the alpine was unlimited!
We connected a series of glaciers and valleys for a big travel day. We observed no signs of instability and felt confident connecting bigger pieces of alpine terrain.
Big Y / Big Blue glaciers snowpack depth ~ 220cm!
