Tablelands

Long Range Mountains

Lots of recent avalanche activity in the Tablelands, from this weekends past wind/snow/rain combo. We observed numerous slab avalanches predominantly out of north facing slopes, but on east and west aspects as well. Up to size 2.5, with crowns 100 cm deep and failing on a hard rain crust. Things were locked back in today with the overnight freeze, low hazard, but tomorrows rain could shake out any remaining pockets of snow. It’s a walk into the trout river bowl at the moment, but still looks like enough snow to survive this weeks weather, and enjoy some turns next week.
