Blustery in the Beauforts

AvCan Vancouver Island, Wednesday 23rd October, 2024 9:32PM

Took the sleds up to 1275 m today on the logging rds of Mt Cameron in the Beauforts. We saw very little evidence of avalanche activity from today or from the previous rain event. The upper snowpack was moist down 50 cm and there was little to no development of a surface crust with the warm temps (+2 to +4) and high freezing level. Lots of clouds today and a very light rain fell almost the entire time. Snowpack test produced no results and pressure applied to the snow only tightened the bonds of the moist grains. Multiple laminated crust layers were found in the upper 50 cm. The mid and lower snowpack is well settled,
