The snow seemed quite dense and fully settled. There were no whoomphing, hollow sounds or any propagating cracks at any point on our trip. There was a bit of soft wind crust (5 cm thick) in some areas, and it was harder in some other spots. We did a couple of quick hand pits on the SW faces and the wind crust sheared off but it took some effort. Also, we were able to get a deeper (30cm) thick slab to slide on the icy-hard surface below but it also took some effort. Everything felt fairly well bonded…so we skied it! The wind was about 10-15kts from the SE in the exposed areas, but with several extended sheltered areas where snow was still soft. It snowed very lightly most of the day. Visibility varied, but was mediocre at best. At times, we could see to the top to the ridges to the north but not always.
