Saddle Pass

Went sightseeing up to Saddle Pass and noted Whumpfing of a buried windslab overlaying facets. The same layer produced moderate compression test results in another leeward Treeline location. No new avalanches observed.

Variable distribution of snow, deeper sheltered areas holding 80cm. Heavily faceted lower snowpack does not support skis or boots well.
