A quick ski tour around the Cypress area to check out the snow surface before the next storm. Spring like heavy snow but well bonded to the crust below treeline. Sun crust in open areas and up to 2cm thick on south aspects. Surface hoar growing in open meadows. Higher elevations had noticable wind effect, soft wind slab formed from SE winds.
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Heavy, Powder. Weather conditions were: Windy, Foggy. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees, Open trees. Riding quality was ok.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
