Wx: Winds were calm with a bit of a haze in the sky. -15C in the morning warming to -3C around 4:00pm. Currently the approach could be done on a fat bike or X-country skis, or you could walk. There's about 3-4" of snow over an icy crust. The approach up the canyon is straight forward although the approach ice will enter 'mixed' conditions with the next warm spell. All the pools are iced over although we skirted around the sides. Whitemans ice is quite variable with the lower pitch (LHS) producing numerous dinner plates. There's a giant blob 1/2 way up the climb & we set up our belay in an alcove behind this blob (LHS). The upper pitch begins with overhanging ice, changing to vertical after about 25'. Pro was good & there was plenty for the feet. Tool placements took a bit of work. +5 conditions.
Weather conditions were: Cold.
