No signs of instability in the surface snow but we were worried about the crust layer. Heard 2 whoomfs. Dug a quick profile, ended up being in a very shallow and rocky spot but that is exactly where we're afraid of triggering something. Got a moderate result on the propagation test.
Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Cold, Sunny. We rode: Mellow slopes, Dense trees, Steep slopes, Sunny slopes, Open trees. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Convex slopes. Riding quality was amazing.
Avalache Conditions: 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours. Whumpfing or drum-like sounds or shooting cracks.
Very shallow, rocky area. HS was 90 and the crust was down 60 and below was rotten facets. ECT P 16 down 60 on Fc sz 2 just over the crust.
